ToggleMumbai Indians (MI) sealed the much-needed two points as they thrashed dominant force Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by eight wickets at the Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Saturday (April 28) night.
As a result, Mumbai will jump to the sixth spot with two wins from seven games in the ongoing edition eleven of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, batting first, Chennai posted 169 runs on the board banking on Suresh Raina (75*) and Ambati Rayadu‘s (46) partnership. Rayadu continued his outstanding form as he provided an outstanding start.
Moreover, Raina’s form will be a boost for the Chennai dugout going deep into the tournament.
However, Mumbai bowlers did a brilliant job at the end to restrict Chennai within 165.
In reply, Mumbai got the perfect start with Suryakumar Yadav (44) and Evin Lewis (47) setting a perfect platform for the middle-order.
Skipper Rohit Sharma then showed his sheer brilliance – to guide his team through with an unbeaten knock of 56 runs.
This will give Mumbai a sigh of relief and they will look to bank on this going into the next game.

Suryakumar Yadav: (7/10)
Suryakumar Yadav has been a revelation for Mumbai this year and this match was no exception. He has provided Mumbai with great starts and continued his job again.
He played an outstanding knock of 44 runs off 34 deliveries including five fours and one sixes.
Evin Lewis: (7.5/10)
The swashbuckling opener from Windies Evin Lewis got some much-needed runs under his belt. Lewis chipped in with 47 runs off 43 deliveries as Mumbai got a good start.
He will have to continue his run-scoring spree and guide Mumbai to victory.
Ishan Kishan (wk): (1/10)

Ishan Kishan had no role to play in the game. Rohit dropped him to promote himself at one drop and got the result.
However, the young wicketkeeper-batsman has done well so far and will look to continue doing so.

The Mumbai skipper was absolutely brilliant. Rohit guided his team to an all-important victory with an unbeaten knock of 56 runs off just 33 balls. His responsible knock included six fours and two sixes.
Rohit will have step up to the occasion on every game if Mumbai wants to give themselves any chance.
Jean-Paul Duminy: (1/10)
The all-rounder from South Africa replaced Kieron Pollard in the playing XI. However, he played no part in Mumbai’s win.
Duminy will look contribute to all the department if he gets an opportunity.
Krunal Pandya: (6.5/10)

Krunal Pandya did his job with the ball as he restricted the run flow in the middle-overs. He also picked two crucial wickets to ensure Chennai doesn’t go away with runs.
Meanwhile, he didn’t get the opportunity to bat, however, will to contribute in any way possible.

India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya had an average game against the Super Kings. Hardik bagged one for 39 before scoring 13 runs off euight balls to see his team through.
However, he needs to up his game into Mumbai wants to continue the winning momentum.
Ben Cutting: (3/10)
The all-rounder from Australia had a very poor outing against Chennai. Cutting gave away 14 runs in the only over he bowled.
However, he will look to come back stronger in the upcoming fixtures.
Mitchell McClenaghan: (8/10)

The speedster from New Zealand Mitchell McClenaghan has been stunning since he came as a replacement. He has bowled with great pace and picked wickets with the new ball.
McClenaghan was once again outstanding returning with two for 26 in his four overs.
Mayank Markande: (4/10)
The young Mayank Markande had an off day in business. After making an early mark in the tournament he was introduced to a reality check by the Chennai batsmen.
The leg-spinner went for 30 runs in his three overs, however, will look to come back stronger.
Jasprit Bumrah: (6.5/10)
Jasprit Bumrah was lethal in the death over for Mumbai against a destructive Chennai batting. he used his variations to great effect to keep things tight.
He returned with none for 25 in his four overs for Mumbai Indians.
