IPL 2016: Bengaluru will now host the final

A hot topic today in the Indian Premier League is the venue of the final, and the question: If it is not going to be Mumbai, then where? – is on everyone’s mind. But the question has been answered finally, as the IPL Governing Council decided to change the venue of the fixtures that were scheduled to be hosted in Maharashtra, following an order from the Bombay High Court. The final of IPL season 9 will now be played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore along with the first qualifier, but the elimination round and the second qualifier, both will be played at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

A recent press release from IPL governing council has stated that both the teams from Maharashtra the Mumbai Indians and the Rising Pune Supergiants will play their Home matches at Visakhapatnam from now on, as Vizag has been selected as their home ground:

“The Indian Premier League Governing Council today announced that Vizag will be the neutral venue for Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants home matches post May 1, 2016, for the 2016 VIVO IPL season.”

Another option apart from the mentioned ones was Jaipur, but with the ongoing water crisis in the state the IPL GC stated:

“The IPL GC extended gratitude towards the Government of Rajasthan and thanked the Rajasthan Sports Minister Mr. Gajendra Singh Khimsar for the efforts to get the Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium ready for hosting the matches. However, due to the paucity of time and uncertainty surrounding whether the matches will be held or not, the IPL GC decided that Vizag will be a neutral venue for both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants.”

Mumbai Indians and the Rising Pune Supergiants, both are satisfied with the decision to play their home matches at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag.

Not only the venues, but the timings of the upcoming fixtures have also changed. Few matches have been delayed a bit. But in the end, all of these could not spoil the excitement of the game, which is a big win.
