ToggleAfter serving Kolkata Knight Riders for seven-long years, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has donned orange jersey this time around in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shakib’s season has kicked off in style as the star all-rounder has already picked up three wickets in the two matches he played in for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The SRH have won their first two matches in a tightly fought affair especially the second match against Mumbai Indian which was a last-ball thriller.
SRH won the match with just one-wicket in hand.
Shakib has had a decent start with a new franchise and the left-arm spinner has said that he is feeling comfortable in his new franchise.
The number one Twenty20 all-rounder, Shakib said that his stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will help him in the coming years owing to the IPL. He hopes he wins another title with the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Shakib said, “I’m feeling great. I’ve almost spent a week here. It has been great so far. We played a match and won. Playing for Kolkata Knight Riders for last seven years was a great experience. Winning two Indian Premier League titles was a massive experience for me. I’ll take that experience into my account and hopefully, I’ll be able to put a good show on orange.”
Despite being at the top of the ICC all-rounder rankings in the limited overs format, Shakib said he still prefers Test match cricket.
“I prefer playing Test cricket. Now the most important thing for me is that I’m fully fit and hoping to continue to play in all three formats as many years as I can.”
Shakib AL Hasan has also rated the SRH coaching staff very highly which is mostly comprised of Australians like Tom Moody, Simon Helmot etc.
He said, “I knew them before while playing for Melbourne Renegades. Helmot is working with Bangladesh team now. They have been helping me out a lot, giving me all the confidence I need. Now it’s up to me to do well for the team.”
