Lendl Simmons, the opening batsman of Mumbai Indians, has said that IPL is the Best T20 Tournament in the Wordl, which provides the best platform to individuals to showcast their talent and prove his worth.
Simmons was the main reason of Mumbai Indian’s revival last season and even this year he continues to impress. He got his chance only after Aaron Finch got injured and since then he has scored 345 runs in 9 matches at an average of 43 per innings , which also includes 4 half centuries.
Talking about AB de Villiers, Simmons said that he is out of the World and added that he continues to do so in every format of the game. He also added that deVilliers will be remembered long after he retires from the game.
When asked about his own form, he sad that his mantra is all about getting a good start to his innings and give what the team needs i.e a good base for the middle and lower order to grab on. He added that so far things have gone his way and he hopes that he can continue to do so for Mumbai Indians in the coming matches.
Mumbai Indians will have to win their remaining matches to have any decent chance of qualifying for the knock-outs.
