Jos Buttler, who has joined Rajasthan Royal’s training camp, is looking forward to the challenge against Kings XI Punjab. The wicketkeeper-batsman was under quarantine period and had missed the first match for RR against CSK where his side registered victory.
Jos Buttler, who played eight matches last season, was delighted with the team’s victory in their opener of the tournament. He appreciated the all-round performance of the Royals which led them to a comfortable win against CSK by 16 runs.
“Great to get a win on the board, the team played fantastically well in the first game. It was an outstanding batting performance and a fantastic bowling performance in tough bowling conditions,” Buttler said in an official release issued by the Royals.

After winning the first match, Jos Buttler said that the dressing room environment of the team is energetic and positive. He said that the team was confident ahead of the coming match.
“I am really excited to play my first game, it was great to be back in training with the boys, there’s a great vibe around the team so I’m really looking forward to taking the field. The atmosphere and energy around the squad is fantastic, obviously lots of confidence after that first game,” Buttler said.
KL Rahul’s Wicket Will Be Key: Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler stated that he was expecting a tough match against Kings XI Punjab, who have also registered victory in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
“The training has been very energetic, guys are lively and enjoying each other’s company. So yeah good atmosphere around, expecting a really tough match against Kings XI,” he added.
Seeing KL Rahul’s exceptional form against RCB, Buttler said that the KXIP captain’s wicket would be vital to lead RR to victory. He also speculated that it would be a high scoring match seeing the small boundary of the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where the two teams will clash.
“Obviously a fantastic team, KL Rahul was in exceptional form the other night against RCB, so he will be a key wicket as always and I think we’ll see another potentially high-scoring game at Sharjah with small boundaries and the dew factor coming in. Can’t wait to get back out there,” he added.
Rajasthan Royals will play the second match of the tournament against KXIP on Sunday.
