IPL looming, DDCA staff goes on indefinite strike

It is always hard to believe that the richest cricketing league , the IPL has problems with payments to people involved in its execution. On Wednesday the workers at the DDCA were on a strike and did not allow officials to enter the premises the whole day. It is said that they have threatened to boycott IPL if their dues are not paid before the start.

The issue has been prolonged for a few months and seeing that it had no effect on the officials, the crew took to an indefinite strike and blocked the officials from entering the ground.

The workers said that the officials still had to pay them the dues from the Windies not so long ago and also the dues for working over-time at the previous season of IPL. They also said that the payments to provident funds were also cut short without a notice.

One of the scorer stated that they gave the officials time till March 31st and because nothing changed, they are ready not to work for the IPL until their dues are cleared.

However after through handling, the DDCA officials do admit about the lack of payments but were not able to come up with an agreement with the staff at the ground. Even after a meeting was held on Wednesday nothing has changed and it is said that though there are people who want the IPL to run smoothly, no action for the same has been taken.
