Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Daredevils by 80 runs at Vizag just a few moments ago. It was a dominating display by Mumbai Indians who outplayed Delhi Daredevils in all departments. Mumbai Indians with this win climbed to third on the points table.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and choose to field. Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill came to open the innings for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma started the innings with a six and four in the first over which set the platform. Sharma looked in brilliant touch hitting another six off Morris bowling. Martin Guptill played the role of sheet anchor while Rohit Sharma attacked the Delhi Daredevils bowlers. At the end of six overs, Mumbai Indians scored 45 runs. Soon after powerplay overs, Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 31 in 21 balls.
- Explosive partnership between Krunal Pandya and Martin Guptill
Krunal Pandya and Martin Guptill joined at the crease on 45 for 1 in the 7th over. Krunal Pandya took few balls to settle in before smashing the Delhi Daredevils spinners to all parts of the ground. In the 12th over Mumbai Indians were 97 for 1 and then Krunal Pandya and Guptill took 23 runs. After that Krunal Pandya and Martin Guptill really showed their class with power hitting. Krunal Pandya reached his maiden IPL fifty in 22 balls and Martin Guptill gave him full support. Martin Guptill was dismissed for 48 at the score of 144. Both of them put on 98 runs for the second in just 48 balls. Krunal Pandya played an excellent knock as he was out for 86 in 37 balls.
- Chris Morris and Zaheer Khan the saving grace for Delhi
All the Delhi Daredevils went for too many runs. They picked three spinners in today’s match. Nadeem the left arm spinner gave away 42 runs at an economy of 10.50. Their main spinners Amit Mishra went for 10.50 runs and Imran Tahir was massacred for 14.75 runs as he gave away 59 runs in 4 overs. Chris Morris picked 2 wickets and gave away 34 runs, but captain Zaheer Khan went for less than 6 runs per over. Chris Morris has been a standout bowler for Delhi in death overs this year.
- Explosive batting by Quinton De Kock
Chasing a massive target of 207, Delhi Daredevils opener De Kock was in excellent form timing the ball right from ball one. Mayank Aggarwal was dismissed in the second over by Vinay Kumar for 8. De Kock smashed 3 boundaries and one six of Vinay Kumar bowling which raised the hopes of Delhi chasing down this massive target. Karun Nair also was dismissed in the 5th over for 8. As wickets were falling from other end, De Kock hold forth but hopes of Delhi Daredevils ended with fall off well set De Kock wicket for 40.
- Bumrah brilliant spell
Bumrah was brought on by Rohit Sharma in the 6th over when Delhi Daredevils were 47 for 2. He gave away just 2 runs in his first over which pegged back Delhi further back. Bumrah picked the wickets of Duminy and Pant in successive balls. In his 3rd over he picked the wicket of Amit Mishra. He bowled good line and lengths not allowing the batsmen to hit big strokes. In the last over he gave just 3 runs and finished with figures of 3 for 13 in 4 overs. Other bowlers also contributed to the team success.
