The report also adds that the boards of two teams will meet on October 6. Ashwin was busy playing county cricket in England recently. He will be in India in the month of October, but will again be busy as he is a part of India’s Test squad for South Africa series.

The outgoing of Ashwin from KXIP will also mean that the team will have a new captain in the next season. KL Rahul is leading the race to be appointed as the captain of the franchise.
He has age on his side and can be a long-term captain of the Punjab-based franchise.

At Delhi, Ashwin will join likes of captain Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Amit Mishra and others. He and Mishra will form the strongest spin-attack in IPL should Ashwin play for Delhi in the next season.
