Goa vs Tamil Nadu

The Goa-based player who was once called the emerging player by cricket pundits failed to get the place in India’s national cricket team. He was unfortunate to get much-needed limelight to be called up in India’s national cricket team.

The opening batsman made the debut in IPL for Rajasthan Royals and was the superstar for them in the inaugural edition. His partnership with South African captain Graeme Smith is the most memorable one.

On his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored 60 runs from 34 balls. His innings included 10 fours and one six with a strike rate of 176.47. He played eight matches for RR in IPL 2008 season and scored 311 runs.

The Royals retained the 35-year-old for the next seasons but was dropped after the 2011 season because of his out form. Additionally, he didn’t get many matches for RR.

The 2007-2008 domestic season was an outstanding year for him. The hard-hitting batsman was the highest run-scorer for Goa.  he scored 640 runs at 71.11 with a personal best of 254 not out, against Railways. However, even his good could not give him chances to feature on the international platform.

He last played for the Goa team in 2018 and since then, he out of action.
