IPL 2020: KXIP vs RCB – Aakash Chopra Names The Only Death Over Bowler In RCB’s Bowling Attack

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 journey with the win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. As they move to play the second match of the tournament against Kings XI Punjab, Aakash Chopra, the renowned cricket commentator, has observed that RCB’s bowling attack has only one good death over bowler.
In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra recommended some changes that RCB should do to come stronger against KXIP. He said that the batting allrounder Moeen Ali should replace Josh Philippe to increase their bowling option. The Royals, in the last match, had picked Josh Phillipe for the wicketkeeping role as well as the middle-order batsman.
“I would say RCB should play Moeen Ali instead of Joshua Phillippe. They may want to change their fast bowlers, but they don’t have much of an option,” Aaksh Chopra said.
Observing that RCB’s bowling is weak, Chopra said that they need to rope in Isuru Udana and drop either Dale Steyn of Josh Phillipe and play Gurkeerat Mann.
“The other thought I may have is Isuru Udana for Dale Steyn or Isuru Udana for Joshua Phillipe and play Gurkeerat Mann as a batsman in the middle because the RCB bowling is weak,” he said.
Navdeep Saini is the only good death bowler: Aakash Chopra
Although Virat Kohli led side has Chris Morris, Dale Steyn and Umesh Yadav for their pace bowling option, Aakash Chopra believes that they are not death over bowler. According to him, Navdeep Saini is the only good death bowler that Royal Challengers Bangalore has in their squad.
“Dale Steyn is not a death bowler and Morris is still injured and you would have to go to Umesh Yadav or Siraj, that is not going to happen. Navdeep Saini is the only good death bowler in the RCB bowling attack,” he added.
Navdeep Saini picked up two wickets against SRH to dismantle their middle order. In his four-over quota, he bowled at the economy rate of 6.25. He is surely the player in IPL to lookout for.
