As a result, Chennai is concurrently placed at the second spot whereas, bleak-looking Bangalore team is languishing at the sixth spot.
Batting first, RCB lost back-to-back wickets with Parthiv Patel (53) and Tim Southee (36) only crossing single digit score. Ravindra Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh were brilliant as they shared five wickets among themselves.
Meanwhile, Bangalore bowlers did a good job with the ball but it was too tough to defend with CSK not losing enough wickets.

Shane Watson: (3.5/10):
The veteran all-rounder Shane Watson had an off day in business as he failed to shine with the bat. Watson got out scoring 11 runs from 14 deliveries.
However, he will look to hit back to form in the next tie.
Ambati Rayudu: (7/10):
Ambati Rayudu continued his good form chipping in with a useful 32 runs from 25 balls. His knock included three boundaries and two towering sixes.
His form with the bat has boosted the Chennai dugout.
Suresh Raina: (6/10):
The experienced southpaw Suresh Raina also chipped in useful runs helping the team to inch closer to victory. Raina’s knock of 25 runs was very valuable as it set the tone for Dhoni.
Meanwhile, he will look to continue this form in the upcoming fixtures.
MS Dhoni (c & wk): (8/10):
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been in the red-hot form which has given CSK management enough relief.
The cool and composed finisher once again did the bulk of a job.
Dhoni remained unbeaten on 31 runs to see his team through.
Dhruv Shorey: (4/10):
Dhruv Shorey failed to make an impact in his debut game for CSK in IPL. The right-handed batsman got out scoring eight runs from nine balls.
However, he will look to turn thing and make an early impact in the tournament.
Ravindra Jadeja: (9.5/10):
The left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja was absolutely brilliant during the game as he stormed back to form.
Jadeja bagged the Man of the Match award as he returned with three for 18 in his full quota of overs.
CSK dugout will want Jadeja to continue the same form in the remaining games.
Dwayne Bravo: (5.5/10):
The Windies all-rounder Dwayne had an average game against Bangalore. He went for 17 runs in two overs before scoring a vital 14 runs to see his team through.
Dhoni will want Bravo to be in the prime form which will provide flexibility to CSK’s batting-order.
David Willey: (6/10):
The all-rounder from England David Willey had a good debut in the league. The left-arm seamer returned with one for 24 in his four overs.
Willey’s form will be crucial to the Super Kings going into the end of the league.
Harbhajan Singh: (8/10)
The veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has finally started to hit the right notes as the tournament is nearing its business end.
Harbhajan returned with two for 22 in his full quota which will excite the CSK camp.
Lungi Ngidi: (6/10):
The South Africa seamer Lungi Ngidi has impressed in his early day in the tournament. Ngidi returned with one for 24 in his four overs to contain RCB’s destructive batting unit.
His form will provide a ray of hope for the struggling CSK bowling unit.
Shardul Thakur: (3.5/10):
Shardul Thakur has been inconsistent as he has got a good hammering time and again. He gave away 19 runs in two overs against RCB.
Chennai Super Kings will want him in superlative form in the impending fixtures.
