In addition, Manufactured by Universal Robots, the Cobots are programmed by MAC Machine Tools and Automation.
“Since the year 2008, IPL has only gotten Bigger, Better and Exciting. This year we are excited to be a part of VIVO IPL by introducing our robotic solutions into the cricket league. Our cheer-leading and bar-tending application in VIVO IPL is an example which showcases the power of innovation and creativity. I am proud of the fact that we are the first company to have introduced this concept to IPL,” said Mr. J Nagarajan, Managing Director – MAC Machine Tools and Automation.
MAC has deployed Cobots for two applications at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.
Moreover, the first application is an outdoor application. The two Cobots could cheer the team while waving the flags and placards respectively.
The second application is an indoor application. Interestingly, the designers have further programmed Cobots to serve drinks to the guests
“Cricket being a rage in the country, we are delighted to see our cobot participating in IPL 2018. It was a path-breaking opportunity for us to explore an unconventional field. This new generation of lightweight robotic arms/cobots are now moving to sectors beyond the automotive and it’s a terrific experience to see them showing up some pretty unusual applications,” Pradeep David, General Manager, Universal Robots – South Asia, said.
