The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed again the announcement of offshore venues of Indian Premier League of this season. They said that they need some more time to discuss over it.

This year’s IPL is going may take place out of sub-continent due to federal election, that has been announced by Election Commission of India on this Wednesday. But BCCI wants to make sure that the maximum matches should be played in India. “We have talked about the venues of IPL, we haven’t decided it yet. We require two more days to decide the offshore venue.” Said Ranjib Biswal, the IPL chairman. He has given a clue that majority of the matches can be played in India after 16th May.“As the election dates have been announced, we are trying to host a bulk matches in India. Since it is the Indian Premier League, we need to accommodate as many matches in India.” He added.

The authorized administrators like Ranjib Biwal, BCCI president N Srinivasan, vice-president Rajiv Shukla, and secretary Sanjay Patel, IPL chief operating officer Sundar Raman has been handover the rights to determine the venues and the BCCI working committee is now deciding it in Delhi. Three preferable venues in foreign soils are – South Africa, Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates. Although South Africa is looking very enthusiastic to host the upcoming session of IPL but there are two barriers regarding this.

First, the title sponsor of IPL is Pepsi don’t have an impressive market in South Africa, so they will be rejected if IPL 7 will move to Protease land. Second, as the tournament is going to be divided into two part, the major part will be played in the sub-continent, so there must be similarities in weather conditions between two places and South Africa obviously does not get fitted into that criteria.

On the other hand, two franchises have given a written objection in the last couple of days, requesting it is not being played in Arab. As IPL session 6 has been already drowned with corruption, betting and match fixing. And transition the tournament to UAE will affect adversely the image. Because it is known that Arab is the heaven for India’s betting mafias. The team owners are though seemed not so happy with the decision of arranging IPL session 7 out of India.
