Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) mentor Virender Sehwag has lavished praise on their star player KL Rahul. The young Indian batsman Rahul had gone all guns blazing in the powerplay overs against Delhi bowlers in Mohali.

His half-century in 14 balls meant Kings XI Punjab eased passed the target with ease. Having asked to chase 166 runs in the match, KL Rahul has started his power-hitting from the first over.

By the third over, he managed to reach the half-century while his partner, Mayank Agarwal had managed a mere 1 run off three balls. His innings has created ripples in cricketing world today and the elegant batsman will definitely remember this incredible knock.

He was eventually out after making 51 runs in 16 balls. His fabulous innings involved 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Virender Sehwag, who had assembled a great side through auction, was very happy with the way KL Rahul went about his business.

Rahul, naam toh suna hi hoga. Amazing hitting, and a 14 ball half century. Well begun boys,” Sehwag tweeted.

Great start for Punjab

The way Punjab had dictated the game against Delhi Daredevils.

Despite the strength on the paper, the team had to show it on the pitch and they delivered in style.

The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Mujeeb Rahman had lived up to the billing. While fast bowlers Mohit Sharma and Andrew Tye were impressive.

However, Axar Patel looked below confident while bowling. On the other hand, Yuvraj Singh had a day to forget with the bat. He scored a mere 12 runs from 22 balls and never looked settled.

They do not have another game until Friday. Kings XI Punjab have definitely started the season as per their expectations.

They will now face Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru on April 13.
