Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder has picked three youngsters from India who he feels will have a great Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season. The youngsters were Yashasvi Jaiswal from the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Ravi Bishnoi from the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Abdul Samad from the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Irfan Pathan was a member of the Indian team which won the inaugural 2007 T20I World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy and had represented Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions in IPL. He last played in 2017 before announcing retirement from all formats in January 2020.

Irfan Pathan Picks Yashasvi Jaiswal And Ravi Bishnoi To Have An Excellent IPL

Irfan Pathan took to Twitter to express his excitement of watching the three youngsters showcase their talent in IPL 2020. He expects them to prosper and believes the trio have a bright future ahead.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a fantastic 2020 U-19 World Cup for India where he scored 400 runs in the tournament averaging a staggering 133.33 and even received the player of the tournament award. He was never dismissed below the score of 59 throughout the tournament and scored the maximum runs by any cricketer. He came from a humble background.

Yashasvi Jaiswal announced himself in style in domestic cricket by becoming the youngest cricketer to score a List-A double century. He created headlines when he smashed that fine double hundred against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019. He will be looking forward to having a breakthrough season at the top of the order for the Rajasthan Royals.

Ravi Bishnoi also shone brightly in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup for India, picking up 17 wickets averaging a meagre 10.65 and becoming the tournament’s leading wicket-taker. His googlies at pace tormented batsmen throughout the tournament. Under veteran spinner Anil Kumble’s guidance, he will look to excel at Kings XI Punjab.

Irfan Pathan Urged Sunrisers Hyderabad To Buy Abdul Samad In IPL 2020 Auction:

Irfan Pathan had urged Sunrisers Hyderabad to snap up Abdul Samad in the 2020 IPL auction due to his power-hitting ability. Irfan Pathan had shown a lot of faith in young Abdul Samad aged only 18 so much so that he had urged the Sunrisers Hyderabad to snap him up at the IPL 2020 auction.

Irfan Pathan believes that the 18-year-old from Jammu and Kashmir will set the IPL stage on fire with his big-hitting prowess and would prove to be a huge asset to SRH.

Abdul Samad made his Twenty20 debut for Jammu & Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on February 2019 and his List A debut on September last year in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his first-class debut in the same year in the Ranji Trophy.

The IPL will surely provide a superb platform for these youngsters to showcase their talent and it is up to them to grab this opportunity with both hands and make a case for themselves for selection in the Indian senior team.
