Fast-bowler Irfan Pathan has given a perfect reply to the trollers after receiving the backlash for celebrating ‘Rakshabandhan’ and wearing a Rakhi, as the left-arm bowler feels there is no place for the hatred.
“I don’t even tag them when I reply to them because I don’t want to give anything to them. I will always react with love,” Pathan was quoted as saying by ANI.
The Baroda-born Pathan, who has been seen as one of the premier bowlers in the Indian set-up, on August 8 posted his picture on photo-blogging site Instagram to wish ‘Happy Rakhi everyone’, as he was seen Rakhi tied around his wrist on the auspicious occasion.
“There are always going to be haters. There are always going to be some people who will say negative about you. And my reaction is not for them,” Pathan added.
It’s pertinent to mention, Pathan was also slammed on social media after uploading a photograph alongside his wife Safa Baig owing to the un-Islamic attire.
“I always make sure I keep my dignity and I don’t go overboard. I don’t use foul language,” Pathan revealed.
The bowling all-rounder Pathan, who has played a significant role for India, revealed he has a great regard for his die-hard fans and friends.
“I always believe there are lots of friends and fans who love and respect me and that is the most important thing for me,” Pathan remarked.
Known for his seam and swing bowling, the 32-year-old bowler Pathan, asserted he don’t want to get carried away while adding he is either not worried about the people are pessimistic in approach, as there is no need for any clarification.
“I don’t go there and clarify all the times because it’s not required. If you know you are doing the right thing, you do what you believe in and as well as I am happy, I am not too bothered about it,” Pathan maintained.
Pathan, who is active on social media, stated he is aware of the pros and cons of the virtual world while handling with care.
“I always manage social media very carefully,” Pathan further added.
Pathan added the fake accounts are there to malign others and the real accounts also exist owing to the different opinions which further include unconstructive remarks.
“You need to be careful because there are a lot of fake accounts. And yes, there are people with real accounts as well and they express their opinions in terms of talking negative about certain things,” Pathan concluded.
Pathan has played 120 One-day Internationals, 29 Tests and 24 Twenty20 Internationals. He has bagged 301 wickets across all three formats of the game.
Interestingly, Pathan has last featured in his international match (T20I) against South Africa in October 2012.
