Just like several other cricketers and sports persons, Irfan Pathan too enthusiastically posted a photo of himself celebrating Raksha Bandhan. But little did he know that he would once again be targetted by the religious fanatics.
As soon as he posted the photo, the religious bigots jumped into action, calling his act “un-Islamic” while some showed disappointment over him celebrating a “Hindu festival”.

The all-rounder had posted the same photo on his Facebook account too and the comments on it were totally uncalled for.
This is the second instance inside a few days when the India international has been the subject of religious trolls on social media. Last month, he fell prey to moral policing on social media when he posted a picture of himself along with his wife who had covered her face with her palms.
And while he refrained from reacting the last time around, he made sure to react strongly to the fanatics’ latest act. The 32-year-old, while questioning their upbringing, told them to stop the ‘nonsense’.
“Using foul language. Talking each other rudely on basis of religion. It shows nothing but our own learning which some ppl have gathered in their mind over the years.stop this nonsense of putting each other down,” wrote Irfan.
Recently, some other cricketers – Mohammed Shami and Moeen Ali- were also targetted by the bigots on social media.
