Indian left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan recently became father to a baby boy on December 19 and was soon asked by one of the fans on twitter to not name him as “Daud” or “Yakub”.
The tweet came among controversy that was set aflame by many people when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor named their son “Taimur”. Taimur was a Persian empire who almost destroyed Northern India when he invaded the country in 14th century and many people across the country took to twitter to frame it like something wrong has been done by the Bollywood duo.
The controversy hit so high on social media that it didn’t take much time to become the most trending topic in twitter. However, Irfan Pathan dealt the situation in the best way possible as he went on to say: whatever the name of his son is, he would go on to make his nation proud, just like his father and uncle did.

Irfan Pathan has named his son as Imran but the way he replied to the controversial question amidst the controversies surrounding the names of new born celebrity babies, earned him plaudits from all across the country.
The fan who made comments on the name later apologised to the veteran all-rounder as he admitted he didn’t mean to say it in a wrong way and the 32-year-old warmly accepted the apology from the fan and also insisted that sometimes people say stuff that they don’t mean in a wrong way.
