Sunil Gavaskar has hinted that Team India’s new approach might be the reason behind Virat Kohli’s failure during the T20I series against England. India won the series against England but Kohli had a campaign to forget.

After being rested for the first two games, Kohli batted at number three in the second and third games and failed on both the occasions. In both the games, he lost his wicket while trying to play big shots.

In the second game, he was out for just 1 before scoring 11 in the third. And Gavaskar feels that Team India’s new approach of going all out in the powerplay overs might have been a reason behind Kohli’s failures.

“When your team has embraced this template of attacking cricket, maybe Kohli must have thought that he needs to get as many runs as possible in lesser deliveries so that it will be beneficial for both him and his team,” Sunil Gavaskar told Sports Tak.
