Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan will soon be seen in action for Team India when they share the dressing room for the upcoming series against West Indies. India are scheduled to play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is against the Caribbean outfit.
The BCCI have already announced the Test and the ODI squads. Ishan Kishan and Gill have been picked in both the squads. The young batsmen are likely to be picked up in the T20I squad as well. The upcoming series is India’s first assignment since losing the WTC final against Australia earlier this month.
Gill was a part of India’s playing XI while Ishan Kishan warmed the bench as the team-management picked KS Bharat ahead of him for the wicketkeeping role. India suffered a humiliating 209-run loss against the Pat Cummins-led side.
Ishan Kishan’s request for Shubman Gill:
Ahead of the West Indies tour, Ishan Kishan has made a request to Shubman Gill. The star opener, who is India’s leading run-scorer in international cricket in 2023, recently visited Parc des Princes, the home ground of French football club Paris Saint-Germain.
Gill shared a video on his Instagram where he can be seen holding a PSG jersey with his name on it, expressing his gratitude to the football club for hosting him. The right-handed batsman captioned the video with the words “Tour le parc des princes.”
Kishan decided to react to the post and came up with a humorous response. He jokingly asked Gill to bring the PSG shirt along with him to the West Indies. Kishan wrote, “Shirt leke West Indies aa jana bro (bring the shirt to the West Indies with you, bro). Please don’t forget.”
