ToggleIshan Porel, right-arm medium pacer of Kings XI Punjab will soon get a game in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) according to skipper KL Rahul.
The pacer from West Bengal is yet to feature in any match in ongoing IPL 2020. He performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy season in 2020, helping Bengal to reach the final against Saurashtra. He picked up a five-wicket haul against Karnataka in the semi-finals and picked up 11 wickets in the last three matches including seven wickets in the semis.

Ishan Porel Bowled Well And Had A Great First Class Season: KL Rahul
Ishan Porel made his first-class debut in 2017 and List A debut in early 2017. He has picked up 61 wickets in 22 first-class matches, and 41 wickets in 25 List A matches. He also played 14 T20s where he picked 16 scalps.
“Look, he’s been very good, he’s bowled well in the nets. I’ve been impressed with how he’s been bowling. He’s had a great first class season as well so yeah, some exciting guys in the line-up and one of them being Ishan.
“Sure at some point, he’ll get a game,” the official Kings XI website quoted Rahul as saying ahead of their match against Kolkata Knight Riders to be played on Saturday.

But neither he nor Chris Gayle was in starting XI against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The promising bowler Ishan Porel has risen in the ranks starting from U19 to domestic and then for India A. He uses his height to his advantage — and is an exciting addition to the KXIP squad after being picked for his base price of Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2020 Players’ Auction. Coach and former spinner Anil Kumble has said that he is the right backup for their experienced veteran speedster another Bengal player Mohammed Shami.
Chris Gayle May Play In Future Matches
Chris Gayle too is spotted in Kings XI colours soon this season. Head coach Anil Kumble revealed that he was due to play against SunRisers Hyderabad, but couldn’t make the XI due to food poisoning.

“Chris Gayle was going to play today’s match but he is sick. He is down with food poisoning that’s why he isn’t in the playing eleven,” Kumble told commentators during the SRH game which the Kings XI had lost by 69 runs.
Kings XI are at the bottom of the points table after winning only one match out of six.
‘Universe Boss’ left-handed Chris Gayle is an entertainer both on and off the field. He made a quiet move to Kings XI Punjab from Bangalore in 2018 and made an immediate impact by scoring a century against SunRisers Hyderabad.
Chris Gayle had an excellent season in last season in 2019 where he was on the verge of getting his record 7th IPL century but remained unbeaten on 99. He scored 490 runs in total including four half-centuries averaging 40.83 from 319 balls that he faced.
