Ishant Sharma, Pankaj Singh Added To India Blue For Duleep Trophy

To fill in the void created after the exodus of players due to India A commitments, the selectors have named oodles of changes in the India Blue and India Green, with Ishant Sharma and Pankaj Singh being the mainstay of them.

Both the experienced pacers have been added to the Suresh Raina led India Blue side, which has come as a big boost for the team, striving for a win in the last contest.

Earlier it was reported that Ishant would miss the tournament as he was looking for a county assignment but it sounds like the deal did not finalize and the pacer confirmed about his availability to the selectors.

The selectors were forced to add few players in the India Green side as well. Manpreet Juneja, Amandeep Khare, Dhawal Kulkarni and Anupam Sanklecha are the latest addition to this team. Shivam Choudhary, who was there in the Board President’s XI squad for the practice game against Australia in Chennai, has also been added and he turns out to be the only player from that team to be selected in any of the Duleep Trophy squad.

A win in the last league stage would guarantee a place for one of the teams to qualify for the finals as India Red have already confirmed a berth in the finals.

For Raina led India Blue, first innings result in a draw would do as they have three points in their account by gaining the first inning lead over India Red in the previous game. In the case of India Green, only a win will guarantee them a place in the finals.

Squads –

India Green: Parthiv Patel (Capt, wk), Prashant Chopra, Nitin Saini, Kaushik Gandhi, Manpreet Juneja, Shivam Chowdhary, Amandeep Khare, Parveez Rasool, Mayank Dagar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Varun Aaron, Aniketh Chowdhary and Anupam Sanklecha.

India Blue: Suresh Raina (Capt), Samit Gohel, Abhimanyu Easwaran, KS Bharat, Manoj Tiwari, Deepak Hooda, Ishaan Kishan( wk), Akshay Wakhare, Bharghav Bhat, Ishant Sharma, Pankaj Rao, Jaydev Unadkat, Sagun Kamat and Pankaj Singh.
