Former BCCI chairperson and owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) may have claimed that the side will return in 2018, but team’s frontline spinner Ravichandran Ashwin feels that the possibility of CSK reunion is bleak.
Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals were suspended for two years from IPL as their team principal and co-owner were found guilty of match-fixing .
CSK under the leadership of skipper MS Dhoni went on winning two IPL trophies and Champions League Trophy before getting banned. Its popularity could be understood with the fact that it’s still very popular over social media.
CSK’s Twitter handle still has 2.32 million has 11,899,790 likes on Facebook. The CSK team was comprised of players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Brendon McCullum and Dwyane Bravo.
Ashwin and Dhoni are now part of the IPL side Rising Pune Super Giants (RPS) which debuted in the IPL 2016. When an enthusiastic SCK fan enquired Ashwin if fans are going to see MS Dhoni’s reunion with his ‘beloved’ side, the Chennai bowler said that it is difficult.
