Sunrisers Hyderabad showed their charisma again and this time the batting department stood out as the stand-out performer. The fantastic display of batting partnership by Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan outsmarted Rishabh Pant’s superb 128*. The win for Hyderabad showcased that they are equally strong in batting as well.
We wanted to go out and keep playing: Kane Williamson
Speaking of the match, Kane Williamson quoted that they had played the second innings with a lot of intent to chase down the tally. The skipper of Hyderabad felt that the surface was a little bit on the lower side thus making the life hard for the batsmen. But, once you are set in the crease, it was a nice wicket to bat on.

”We wanted to go out and keep playing as a team. And we have been playing on tough surfaces, so it was nice to go out and execute our batting plans. It’s always tough chasing here. (At the half-way stage) we thought it was a tough surface, keeping a touch low perhaps. Pant played a special knock. They had a score above par. Dew played a little part, yes,” Kane Williamson quoted while speaking in the post-match presentation.
Shikhar was outstanding: Winning skipper
Kane Williamson furtherly showered words of praise on Shikhar Dhawan for his fantastic knock which probably kept the opposition on the back foot. He also added that the initial momentum was important and the rotating the strike helped the things better for the team.

”Wicket was a good surface towards the end. A bit of partnership at the top, which gave us the momentum. We were batting with intent when chasing 180. I think when you are rotating the strike the boundaries start to come. It was nice to get that partnership. Shikhar was outstanding; certainly, put them on the back foot,” he concluded.
However, both the batsmen registered an unbeaten 176-run partnership that saw Sunrisers Hyderabad qualify for the playoffs’ stage and stationed themselves comfortably at the top of the points table with 18 points. Coming to future assignments, they are scheduled to play against CSK, RCB and KKR in their final 3 fixtures.
