ToggleMany cricket experts are very excited about the young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. However, Pant has hugely disappointed in recent times. But the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag still has the strong faith on Pant.
Many have liked Rishabh Pant’s strong and aggressive character in the field. However, his shot selection is not so good yet and it is his biggest problem at present.
Though he started his international career in a strong note, recently Pant has poorly failed to maintain his impressive cricket. His weak and inexperienced shot selections have hugely troubled him and his teams.

Recently, Pant has earned the major wicketkeeper-batsman role of the national team and that too in every format. However, the youngster hasn’t maintained his positive cricket in recent times.
But, Virender Sehwag still believes in this young boy. Sehwag feels that Pant is an extremely talented cricketer who has huge potential. The former Indian attacking opener believes that Pant will grow up with the proper grooming process.
Sehwag told PTI, “Pant is an extremely talented cricketer with huge potential. It will be important that he is groomed well.
“And now that he has been assured some quality time in the team it is important that he makes the best use of the opportunity and works to better his game and develop as a cricketer.”
We need to now settle the team combinations – Virender Sehwag
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag believes that the national cricket team is in good hands. He also feels that India have good bench strength along with the top quality bowlers. However, to win the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship, Sehwag thinks that India need to settle the team combination.
Sehwag said, “Two years is a long time. Yes the team is in good hands. I wish Ravi Shastri all the luck for his second innings and Virat Kohli all the very best.
“We have good bench strength, quality fast bowlers and spinning prospects. We need to now settle the team combinations.”
Virat Kohli-led India have recently begun their journey in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-21). In their first game of this assignment, which was against Windies at Antigua Test, India claimed a record-margin victory. India beat the host side Windies by 318 runs in the Antigua Test, which was India’s largest victory (by runs) in away. With this victory, India have opened their Test Championship points table with 60 points along with the high RpW ratio.
