Former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Cape Town Knight Riders franchise for the inaugural edition of global T20 league.
The team is owned by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan along with Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta, who are also the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. Kallis is currently the Head Coach of KKR and will continue his association with the owner of the team in this league as well.

JP Duminy has been appointed as the captain of the side. He has led IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils in past. Though he decided to skip the tenth season of the league due to some reasons.

The team combinations for the inaugural T20 league were decided through an auction process. Cape Town Knight Riders have acquired the likes of Chris Gayle, Dale Steyn, and Adil Rashid. This is Steyn’s and Rashid’s first contract in Knight Riders group whereas a home coming for Gayle as he has played for KKR in IPL in past before he was released by the franchise. From then, he has played for just Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The inaugural edition of the league will be played from November 3 to December 16, with eight franchises in the fray to win the tournament.
