The England fast bowling spearhead James Anderson will join the England squad in India before the start of the first Test at Rajkot. However, he will not be part of the first Test and might have to wait until the completion of first three Test matches of the series before walking in the playing XI.
Anderson, who was not the part of the original squad announced has been allowed to fly to the country only after getting clearance National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough where he has been bowling from past two weeks in order to get fit for India voyage.
Anderson recently missed the Test series against Bangladesh due to a stress fracture in his right shoulder. From then there were various rumours about his injury out of which some suggested that Andeson might miss the complete tour but he has now recovered well in time and is hopeful of making his contribution in probably his last series in sub-continent.
The highest wicket take for England in Test and ODI cricket was quite instrumental in team’s success on their last tour to the country as he scalped a total of 12 wickets on the tour, highest among the fast bowlers. Umesh Yadav, Steve Finn, Ishant Sharm and Zaheer Khan were other fast bowlers in the series, all of them just had a number 4 in the wickets column. This shows the impact of Anderson in England team.
The first Test of the series is set to be played from November 9 at Rajkot which will host its first ever Test match. This will also be the 100th Test match for Stuart Broad who will surely miss the company of James Anderson on the field but will get his support from the dugout.
