England have been dealt a major blow as James Anderson has been ruled out of the Bangladesh Test series as he failed to recover from the shoulder injury which affected his performance during the England summer.
“It’s a tough one because as a player, if you’re fit, you want to play, simple as that. No matter what the format, you’re desperate to play,” Anderson said last week.
“But there may well come a time when it will get managed. At 34, I probably have to manage myself, or be managed, quite well. You want, if possible, to play every Test but India is going to be five back-to-back and that’s a huge ask for any bowler.”
England will play a two-match test series against Bangladesh from 20th October which will be followed by a 5-match test series against India starting from 9th November.
Anderson played an important role in beating India in India on 2012 tour. He grabbed 12 wickets during that series. England won that series 2-1.
Anderson plays an important role in England test team, in his absence Jake Ball will be handed a golden opportunity to sign in the Bangladesh test series.
The England fast bowler has not played any competitive cricket since Pakistan test series in August. James Anderson needs to be fit if he has to play 7 test matches in space of two months. With the quality of Anderson, England will miss his services during the test series.
