After registering a thumping victory against the Aussies, England have announced the changes they have made to the fourth Test which is set to be played at Trent Bridge.
England absolutely decimated the Aussies and recorded a humungous victory in a match which lasted for just three days. England gave a huge counter punch in the third Test after a heart breaking loss at Lord’s. Steven Finn and James Anderson were the stars with the ball with each picking up a 5 wicket haul in 1st and 2nd innings respectively and bowled England to victory.
However, England were dealt a huge blow as James Anderson suffered a side strain in the second innings when he came around the wicket and he couldn’t continue further and sent immediately out of the field. The strain which he picked up, has kept him away from the Nottingham test and he is hopeful that he can return to the fifth Test which will take place at Lord’s.
Liam Plunkett and Mark Footitt has been called as the replacements in the squad and Adam Lyth has been retained once again by England.
However, for Mark Footitt this is his first call up for a National duty. The left arm pacer has played 68 first class matches for Derbyshire and has picked up 248 wickets with best figures of 6/48 and an impressive average of 25.82.
The fourth test begins at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on August 6th.
