Indian Cricket team fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah has started his preparation in a bid to regain his fitness ahead of the first Test against England.
Meanwhile, this will be a huge boost for the visitors who are missing Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Bumrah suffered a thumb injury during the T20I against Ireland. As a result, he missed the limited-overs encounters against England. Young seamer, Deepak Chahar replaced him in the T20I side while Shardul Thakur did that in the ODIs.
The 24-year old pacer also underwent surgery in England. But now it seems he is getting back to training and recently started running in the gym. However, he had his fingers covered.
“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” #thelionisupandrunning???? [sic],” Bumrah wrote.
Virat Kohli & Co will want their speedster to get back into action quickly. The men in blues missed him during the ODI series, as they lost the series 2-1.
Despite the injury, the selectors named Bumrah in the Test squad and admitted he would be available from the second Test.
“Jasprit Bumrah, who has been included in the squad, will be available for selection from the second Test onwards based on his fitness,” the statement from BCCI said.
Meanwhile, the Test series commences on August 1 at Edgbaston. India will play a five-match Test series and will be desperate to win the series. They will be keen to improve their statistics from the last time when they lost the series 3-1.
