Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond has highly spoken about Jasprit Bumrah. He is impressed with the pacer’s work ethics and has labelled him one of the best fast bowlers in the world.

Shane Bond is working with Jasprit Bumrah since the latter joined Mumbai Indians in 2013. More than Bumrah’s masterpieces in the ground, he is impressed with Bumrah’s willingness to improve and hunger to learn.

“It’s been really fun and I always loved working with Bumrah. Six years now. The thing I like about Jasprit is his willingness to want to improve. He has turned up the series, got another different ball,” Shane Bond said in a video posted on Mumbai Indians’ Twitter.

Shane Bond didn’t hesitate to say Bumrah as the best fast bowler because he has seen him working hard in the background and the fact that he is ‘self-motivated’.

“When you are seeing it from a player, who is self-motivated, doing things in the background to make themselves better. Then there is no surprise to me that he’s one of the best fast bowlers in the world,” he added.

Jasprit Bumrah had a rough start to the tournament. CSK opener Ambati Rayudu badly beat him in the first match.

In the following match as well, he proved expensive. But the speedster bounced back stronger against Rajasthan Royals, picking his first four-wicket haul of the ongoing tournament. Overall, he has snared 11 wickets after seven games at an economy rate of 7.92 with 76 dot balls from 28 overs.

The Indian pacer is the vital cog for the Mumbai Indians and has delivered several match-winning spells in the previous seasons. This year as well his role is crucial to guide MI to their fifth title of the IPL.
