Jasprit Bumrah Is Too Good A Bowler To Beat In Form Batsmen : Gautam Gambhir

Former Indian batsman and two-time IPL winning-captain, Gautam Gambhir believes that the players have tried to play off Jasprit Bumrah, but the bowler is too good and actually beats them when they are defending.

“The opposition has been trying to see him off, but he’s just too good a bowler to actually knock them off. If you look at Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissals in the last game, they were just beaten by absolute beauties,” Gambhir said on ESPNCricinfo.

Jasprit Bumrah recorded most wickets by an Indian pacer in a single edition of IPL. His figures of 4/14 against Delhi in Qualifier 1 was his career-best. He took his 27th wicket of the season in Qualifier 1 against Delhi. He surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s tally of 26 wickets who achieved that feat in IPL 2016.

Jasprit Bumrah Have To Be Tried To Play Off As He Can Beat Batsmen In Defense Or Edge: Gautam Gambhir

Jasprit Bumrah has the best bowling average. He has 27 wickets in 14 games averaging only 13.92 and conceding at an economy rate of 6.71.

“So, even if you try and play him off, but just like Rashid Khan, he would beat you on the defence, he would beat you on the outside edge. He will beat you on the inside edge. So, you have to pick him,” he added.

“You have to actually have the technique good enough to survive. A good ball, in any format, is a good bowl. So, even if you try to play him out, he has that much quality to get you out on your defence. It is exactly like Jofra Archer as well,” he further said,

MI will play Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020 Final in Dubai on Tuesday. Jasprit Bumrah who has 27 wickets and DC pacer Kagiso Rabada, who has 29 wickets, are fighting in a race for the Purple Cap. Mumbai Indians will look to win 5th IPL title while Delhi Capitals are trying to lay their hands on maiden IPL trophy.
