Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami Among The Four Cricketers Advised By BCCI For Arjuna Award
On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the names of four cricketers for the Arjuna Award. They were suggested by the board for their stellar performances on the field for the Indian National Cricket Team. Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and the women cricketer Poonam Yadav were the candidates recommended by BCCI.
The Arjuna Awards are given to honour excellence in sports by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in India. In the previous year, the opening batswoman Smriti Mandhana collected the award for her stellar show in the game of cricket. She was the only cricketer in 2018 to take the honour.

Poonam Yadav has been a brilliant player for the Indian team over the years. Her leg-spin has always yielded best results for the team limited overs format of the game.
She was one of the key players for India when the team did well to reach finals in the ICC World Cup in England. So far, She has played total 41 ODIs, 54 T20Is and a solitary Test for India.
The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators, appointed to oversee the operations of the BCCI, met in New Delhi to discuss the names. GM Cricket Operations Saba Karim, who was present at the meeting, proposed the names of the four cricketers, according to IANS.
Mohammed Shami has also served Indian cricket for quite a few years now. He has been regular in Test format of the game and made a tremendous comeback in the ODI format of the game. He also acquired quite a few records to his name on Indian and overseas’ turfs.
And, Jasprit Bumrah. He has been the scintillating performer for India since making his debut for the team. His presence helped the team to become the best bowling attack in the world irrespective of the format. And also, Bumrah is going to be the vital player for India in ICC World Cup 2019.
The left-handed all-rounder has also been the greatest servant for India. He has been with the team for quite a few years now and also garnered brilliant records in his kitty.
