Team India fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah has rated Test cricket as the pinnacle format to play, as it tests every aspect of a cricketer.
Meanwhile, Bumrah is nursing a thumb injury he suffered during the Ireland series. However, the selectors have admitted Bumrah will be available for the second Test.
Talking about planning before an overseas tour, Jasprit Bumrah admitted that it just not confines to cricket. The young seamer acknowledged he also likes to explore the country he visits.
“You look to enjoy the country, you look to see the place. That is how you get to know about the culture of the place and you eventually start enjoying the country. It then reflects on your performance as well,” Bumrah said to Mumbai Indians website.
Jasprit Bumrah impressed everybody on his debut Test tour to South Africa. He bagged 14 wickets from three Tests and was one of the star performers from that tour.
Recalling his experience from that tour, Bumrah revealed his love for Test cricket and admitted it is the pinnacle form.
“I always wanted to play Test cricket. I was happy when I finally got to play it in South Africa. The start also went well. I always loved Test cricket and I rate it very highly. I enjoy playing each and every format but for me, Test cricket is at the paramount level because I feel everything is tested at that level,” he added.
In conclusion, Bumrah admitted he wants to play more cricket and gain more confidence and help India in the future.
