Bumrah, who has a lot of variations in his kitty, has been a tremendous performer for this current Indian team in the limited overs game. Picking up wickets at crunch situation has been the hallmark of Bumrah’s bowling. Recently, he defended 15 runs in the last over against the Blackcaps to hand over his team an important win in the series decider.

From getting selected in the franchise based Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to becoming the no 1 T20I bowler in the world, the young fast-bowler has come a long way in these two years. Notably, Bumrah was announced as the top T20I bowler by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in their latest ranking list. With an awkward action, his toe-crushing yorkers and slower deliveries have brought a lot of relief in the minds of current India skipper Virat Kohli. Partnering Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he has given some tough time to the visiting Australia and New Zealand team and has earned a lot of praise from the visiting captains as they credited him for India’s success. Recently, Bumrah’s teammate Rohit Sharma adjudged him as the best death bowler in the world currently after his brilliant last over against the Kiwis.

After the release of the ranking list, the young bowler from Gujarat took to social media account Twitter to thanks his family and his team for achieving this feat. He wrote, “Being on top of the world doesn’t mean anything unless u know what it’s like to be at the bottom. Thank you to my family & my team.#NumberOne”

The 23-year-old fast bowler, who made his debut in January 106 has represented India in 28 ODI’s and 27 T20I’s and has picked up 52 and 37 wickets respectively.
