India’s gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made a comeback into the Indian team. Bumrah has all but recovered from his back injury and he was named in India’s squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka and ODI series against Australia. However, as Bumrah will be making a comeback from an injury, special heed is going to put in place on his workload.
Meanwhile, as per the protocol, a player who is making a comeback after a long time has to play a domestic match before he can play for the national side. Consequently, the match between Gujarat and Kerala is the sole match available that Bumrah can play for his state team in the Ranji Trophy. However, Bumrah should not bowl more than 12 overs to keep his workload in check.

Bumrah will aim to make a stronger comeback.
“India is not playing a Test until February 21 next year. So, there was no hurry to make him play red-ball cricket. But then, there’s no other game available, so this was necessary. We’ve advised he shouldn’t over bowl,” say those tracking developments as per the reports in Times of India.
Bumrah has been India’s best bowler in all three forms of the game. However, he was ruled out of the home series against South Africa, Bangladesh, and the West Indies. Ergo, Bumrah will aim to make a stronger comeback in 2020.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has confirmed that Bumrah will be fit to bowl in January 2020. Bumrah has taken giant strides in the last couple of years and he would like to continue his sublime form going.
