On Thursday (February 6) Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). Well, it is a huge set back for the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR). The pacer is a crucial part of the team and was the game-changer for the Jaipur-based franchise. His ouster from the game has decreased the chances for Royals to lift the trophy of the 13th edition.
The England speedster has surfaced with the stress fracture in the elbow. The likely cause of his injury is his hyperextension at delivery which gives him extra pace.
Jofra’s injury has also excluded him from the Sri Lanka tour as well which is scheduled in March. Archer is likely to be out of action for at least three months.
Huge Blow To Rajasthan Royals:
The Rajasthan-based franchise has won the IPL title only one time, that too during the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league. Under the captaincy of former Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, the franchise has lifted the title of IPL 2008.
Till now, 12 editions have passed but RR as team has been not able to win the coveted title. In the IPL 2019, RR was the second last to finish on the points table.
Moreover, Archer’s exclusion from the series has lessened their chances. Though the franchise will find a replacement for the England cricketer. But very few can influence the game like Archer.

Jofra Archer missing the IPL is a big blow for @rajasthanroyals. Just shows how difficult it is to plan and build a team. There are replacements of course but few with his ability to influence a game.
