The 25-year-old Barbados-born England cricketer Jofra Archer and the 38-year-old Barbados cricketer Tino Best were involved in a tweet war during the ongoing Southampton Test between England and West Indies.

Tino Best served for West Indies between 2003 and 2014. where the right-arm fast bowler took 57, 34 and six wickets in 25 Tests, 26 ODIs and six T20Is respectively.

In the ongoing Southampton Test, while the new England captain Ben Stokes selected James Anderson, Mark Wood and Jofra Archer for the genuine pace-bowling roles, he dropped another experienced in-form England pacer Stuart Broad.

After day two of the Southampton Test, Best asked why Archer was selected over Broad as he felt that Archer failed to impress with his pace bowling in that Test. At the end of West Indies first innings of this Test, Archer finished with the wicketless bowling figures (0/61).

Best tweeted, “Honestly why Archer playing before Broad chaaaaa fair is fair tho ??, cause u have Wood bowling 90+ , And he’s bowling the same pace as Broad , I have no problem with Broad being pissed ?with look of triumph #EngVsWI ….. that’s not fair at all ? .”

How are you not a coach yet? Jofra Archer to Tino Best

Later, Archer replied to him by teasing him why he wasn’t a coach yet.

The English pacer wrote, “With all this knowledge how are you not a coach yet ?”

Then Best replied that Archer failed to impress with his fast bowling since the Ashes 2019.

Best tweeted, “Don’t address me personally Young man , the fact remains your bowling toothpaste and u haven’t bowled Quickly since ASHES , now go sleep and get some rest for WI to beat ya ball in the second innings bye ?? Jorfa ?? #SleepTight”

This time without mentioning any name, Archer tweeted, “You must live a miserable life”

Best ended that war with his next two tweets.

He tweeted, “I’m gonna stop this back and fourth between u and me young man @JofraArcher, I have pure admiration for u and ppl close to me know that , your friends etc and I aren’t friends matter a fact they hate me so anytime I write anything About u they screen shot send u .”

Then he again tweeted, @JofraArcher and I apologize cause this isn’t the time to be going at each other with the world watching , when I only want to see u bowl frigging wheels and get us all excited again , I stay blessed and to everyone gassing this up chill out ain’t no Beef I just want to see (emoji of Fuel pumpFuel pump)”

It wasn’t the first time when Jofra Archer and Tino Best were involved in the tweet war. During England’s last New Zealand tour in late 2019, Best claimed that Archer was bowling so slow in that tour. The Caribbean pacer even remarked him as a right-arm medium-fast bowler than a right-arm fast bowler.

Archer hit back him by claiming that he and his captain weren’t worried. Then, Best responded by tweeting “no one can take constructive criticism.”
