Justice Mudgal Has Not Taken A ‘Single Penny’ For His Services To The DDCA
Justice Mukul Mudgal has not charged any fee for his services to the Delhi and District Cricket Association. The retired justice offered voluntary service to the state cricket association which is going through a tough phase right now. There have been several instances of bickering among the association in recent times and the association is also not getting any fund from the Board Of Control for Cricket in India for their delay in submission of the accounts. As a result, the coaches, support staff, selectors and managers have not received their payments on time.
But what can be termed as a very novel gesture, Justice Mudgal stepped in to help the cricket board and has not the charged the under-pressure association. Not only that, he has also donated the fees that were paid to him to the Paralympians.
A senior DDCA official revealed: “It is true that Justice Mudgal has not taken a single penny after the India versus South Africa match. Even the fees that were paid to him, he had donated for the Indian Paralympians. After that, he has not taken his regular fees for World T20, IPL, and the last ODI against New Zealand. He had overseen preparation for all matches.”
The official said that the Delhi High Court-appointed observer provided all his services without demanding his fee only due to his love for the game. He also said that even his staff has not been paid for their ‘tireless’ work.
The official said: “His only idea was to put DDCA house in order. He never cared for his fees. In fact, even his staff — the three-member team which has worked tirelessly has not been paid. The only person who has to be paid by the DDCA is former Deputy CAG IP Singh, who checked all the tenders.”
