The young fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has overtaken senior pro-Dale Steyn in the ICC Test Rankings and has climbed three places to become the best-ranked bowler for South Africa. Rabada is now the fifth-ranked bowler in Test cricket with a ranking of 821 to his name.
Other than him, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy are the ones who have climbed up in the latest Test rankings as Amla has jumped four places and now sits at sixth position in ICC Test Batsman rankings whereas JP Duminy has jumped nine places ahead to be at a 33rd position in the same list.
Amla scored a century against Sri Lanka in his 100th Test match, becoming only the eighth batsman to do achieve this feat. Duminy on the other played an immaculate innings of 155 runs, which has helped him to achieve the best ranking of his Test career.
For Sri Lanka, it is Nuwan Pradeep who climbed up the six places and sits on the 33rd place whereas Suramaga Lakmal, who announced his arrival in South Africa with a fifer has slipped by four places and now sits at 34th rank.
From the first Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand, Shakib Al Hasan shone in the rankings as he has climbed eight places in ICC Test ranking to be ranked as 23rd Test batsman in the list. Despite a great show in the first Test at Wellington, Shakib continues to be the second ranked all-rounder, succeeding R Ashwin.
