India skipper Rohit Sharma has hit out at Kapil Dev after the latter’s recent comments on Virat Kohli. The former skipper questioned Kohli’s place in the team as the latter continues to struggle with the bat.
On the ongoing tour of England, Kohli has looked completely out of form. In the rescheduled Test, he scored 11 and 20 as India lost the crucial game. In the T20Is, he has scored 1 and 11.
Kapil had said if Ravichandran Ashwin with nearly 450 wickets can be dropped , Kohli should be treated in the same manner. Rohit has now reacted to the statement. Speaking at the end of the third T20I against England, Rohit said:
“Kapil Dev doesn’t know what goes behind the scenes, we have a thought process, we make the team and there’s a good discussion behind that. We give a run to the players, we back them. Whatever goes outside doesn’t matter to us, what is going inside does.”
