Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has congratulated Indian cricketers after an epic win in the Bengaluru Test which has helped the hosts to make a comeback in the series.
The series in now evenly poised at 1-1 with two more tests to be played. The Virat Kohli-led men had shown great character to win the second test as they look down and out of the test match by the end of Day 2.
However, some inspirational bowling by Jadeja, Ashwin, Umesh and Ishant gave India slight hope at the beginning of Day 3. Rahane and Pujara along with Rahul carried Indian batting in the second innings as Australia came hard on Day 4 to regulate India’s lead to just 187 runs.
The Indian bowlers have brought their A game in the fourth innings to dismiss Australia for just 112 runs to win the game by a massive 75 runs. However, the talking point of the game came when Steve Smith has looked at dressing room to ask whether to go for review or not after being judged as out by the on-field umpire.
Steve Smith has taken a lot of stick for his unprofessional act as a host of players from India and Australia has expressed their views on the matter. Indian legend Kapil Dev has also expressed his view on Steve Smith as he insisted that he is disappointed with Australian captain’s behaviour on the field.
He tweeted: “Also, it was so disappointing seeing Australian team’s captain behaviour on the field today. Totally against the spirit of this game.”
Best victory in recent times. Congratulations @imVkohli @ImIshant @ashwinravi99 @y_umesh @ajinkyarahane88 @imjadeja. So proud #INDvsAUS

The act was clearly against the spirit of the game as Steve Smith has lost respect from Indian players as well as spectators who are watching the game. Australia and India will now head to Ranchi as they are set to clash in the third test that begins next Thursday (March 16).
