Karun Nair Suffers Lower Abdominal Pain Ahead Of India-England ODI Series 1
karun nair suffers lower abdominal pain

Karun Nair, after smashing a wonderful triple-century against a top quality England side, has suffered a lower abdominal pain which comes as a big blow to India, ahead of their ODI series against Eoin Morgan’s men.

The news was revealed when Karun Nair came out to bat on Day 1 of the 2016/17 Ranji trophy quarter-final against Tamil Nadu and looked in pain. The talented batsman underwent a scan on Friday but the seriousness of the injury is yet to be known.

However, the decision of the Karnataka team management to play Karun was a bad one as the batsman had just played a long innings of 303* few days back and is in contention for a place in the national team for the ODIs and T20Is against England, which starts from January 15, 2017. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Ajinkya Rahane are all set to miss the England series due to injury and Karun Nair’s possible failure to make it to the side would be hard to digest for Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men.

Coming out to bat with injury, Nair failed to deliver in quarters as he went back to the pavilion scoring only 14. Eventually, Karnataka were dismissed for a total of 88 by Tamil Nadu, who were themselves bowled out for 152 in return.
