West Indies speedster Kesrick Williams has lauded Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his intense determination to win whenever he wants. The pacer has shared a few amusing instances with Indian counterpart Kohli on the pitch. In 2017, Williams took Kohli’s wicket and followed it with his trademark ‘notebook celebration’.

Virat Kohli kept the instance in his mind and during 2019 West Indies tour of India he hit him for a six and celebrated with an improvised version of the ‘notebook celebration’. Kesrick remained unsold in the IPL auction in December 2019 and will have to wait to face the star batsman again.

“If Virat comes out and he decides to beat you today, he will beat you. He is a guy who sets up the game. If he decides he has to score a hundred today, he is going to play cricket like anything. If he decides he has to bat till the end, he will bat till the end,” Kesrick Williams told Times of India in a chat.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are talented players: Kesrick Williams

The 30-year-old West Indies pacer also praised Rohit Sharma, who he tells is like a shotgun and makes quick-fire decisions while Kohli implements his decisions in a relaxed and smart way.

“Both Rohit and Virat are really, really talented players. Rohit Sharma is more of a shotgun. He decides I am going to beat you, that’s it. On the other hand, Kohli decides I am going to beat you but I am going to beat you smartly. He is relaxed and works the ball around,” Williams said.
