After India have created a world record by winning 11 consecutive home Test series, many have congratulated and appreciated the no.1-ranked Test side. The top Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has claimed that it shows how toughest to play Test series against India in India. However, former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen doesn’t feel that much hard to beat the hosts India in Tests.

The hosts India are currently busy to play the three-match Test series against South Africa. India won the first two Tests of this series and have secured their 11th straight home Test series victory with one match to go.

India-South Africa played the first Test of this series at Visakhapatnam that India won by 203 runs. Most recently, they played the second Test of this series at Pune. Once again India won the Pune Test by an innings and 137 runs on last Sunday (13th October).

By securing their latest home Test series, India surpassed the previous record of 10 successive home Test series victories by Australia. Australia achieved that record feat for twice.

After India secured their 11th successive home Test series victories, Harsha Bhogle shared his feeling on Twitter. He claimed that this domination showed playing against the hosts India was one of the toughest assignments going.

Pietersen replied, “It’s not that hard mate! ?”

Harsha Bhogle soon replied, “Still remember Mumbai 2012!”

England beat the hosts India in the 2012/13 Test series

Since October 2004, India have lost only one Test series at home. During England tour of India 2012/13, England won the four-match Test series by 2-1. While India took a 1-0 lead in that series with the nine-wicket victory in the first Test at Ahmedabad, England won the next two Tests at Mumbai (by 10 wickets) and Kolkata (by seven wickets). The fourth and final Test of that series (at Nagpur) had a draw result which confirmed England’s series victory.

Kevin Pietersen was one of the stars in that Test series. He was the third-highest run-scorer in that series as he scored 338 runs in seven innings (average 48.28).
