MS Dhoni is the most successful captain in Indian cricket history. He is the only Indian captain who has given all the three ICC trophies as well as he is one of the successful captains in the Indian Premier League, leading Chennai Super Kings. Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen also believes that he is a great leader because he carries a lot of weight of expectations.
Dhoni was the captain, who led the team successfully in the 2011 World Cup and ended the 28-years long weight of the world cup trophy. With his bold and unusual decisions, he fulfiled the hops of billions of Indian fans of lifting the ICC trophies and ruling the world.
Kevin Pietersen sees best-ever captain in MS Dhoni:

During a recent Star Sports ‘Cricket Connected’ show, Pietersen was asked how hard it is to vote against Dhoni in the battle of the greatest ever captains in the sport. His answer was:
“It will be very difficult just with the weight of expectation to go against M.S. Dhoni because of what everybody expects from him, how he has to live his life and what he has been through captaining India and then captaining the CSK,” Pietersen said.

The former Indian captain Dhoni, who took a sabbatical, has been silent over his comeback. His silence has increased the speculations of his retirement. The 38-year old last played for India in the disheartening semifinal against New Zealand of the World Cup 2019.
After being out from the game for eight months, he was set to play in the Indian Premier League 2020, which has been postponed indefinitely. If the league gets cancelled because of the coronavirus, it will affect Dhoni’s comeback in the team. Well, the big players like Dhoni didn’t need IPL to prove their performance to the world because they are tested and proven.
