Well, how will you define the luck of a batsman, having an excellent batting average of 47.28 in Test matches and 40.73 in ODI but still he has been kept out of his national Team. Yes, I am referring here the England’s star Kevin Pietersen. He has also got 31 centuries and 67 half centuries to his credit. He also happens to be the fourth highest run scorer for England in ODIs. His firebrand stroke play stands him distinctively apart. Somehow he was shunted out on the basis of not following the team ethics.

In the IPL he has been striking good for Royal Challengers Bangalore. However in terms of a story running on the social media, after being sacked by England, Kevin Pietersen will appear at the World Cup after all, although he will swap his bat for a microphone after being signed up as a BBC radio pundit. Most of his fans were disappointed to know that after his contract was terminated by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) last year he will not be participating in this gala event.

However, the stylish, blunt and outspoken batsman will be able to voice his opinions on England’s attempts to win the trophy after being added to the Test Match Special commentary team. Commenting on this development Pietersen told the BBC “I really enjoyed having a go at some commentary during the Big Bash,”

He further added “It will be good to return to Australia for the climax of what should be an exciting tournament.” It is really good to hear that Pietersen will work with the BBC from the quarter-finals onwards, joining the elites like Australian great Allan Border and Indian Sunil Gavaskar/Kapil Dev.

It will be interesting to see that how this great cricketer fits in his newly assigned role.
