Subsequently, KL Rahul made immature statements on the chat show Koffee with Karan. Thus, he and Hardik Pandya were suspended by the Indian board. Rahul went on to miss the ODI series against Australia and also the first ODI against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya was added back to the Indian squad for the remaining ODIs against New Zealand. In fact, Pandya might get his opportunity against New Zealand in the ongoing series.
