KL Rahul is all set to make his One-day international debut against Zimbabwe from 11th June. The Indian team will play 3 ODI’s and 3 T20s. He has featured in five test matches so far.
He played a crucial role in helping RCB to reach the finals of recently concluded Indian Premier League. KL Rahul scored 397 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 146.49. He was the wicketkeeper of RCB team this season but could not contribute too much with gloves.
KL Rahul will be travelling to Zimbabwe and with MS Dhoni as the wicketkeeper, the Karnataka batsmen could learn a lot from MS Dhoni in the upcoming series.
“I have enjoyed whatever little I could do for RCB. I have always enjoyed ‘keeping. I guess I will have to work a lot harder. It wasn’t as easy I had thought it to be. It’s a different role, a different challenge that I had not done in a while. Getting some time with MS (Dhoni) in Zimbabwe, my plan is to work with him on my wicket-keeping skills and to see what feedback he has for me,”
“Honestly, I don’t know how the wickets are going to behave in Zimbabwe till we are there. We have a couple of days before the first ODI and I will try to go out and assess the conditions, read the wicket and speak to people who have gone there earlier than me. It will be challenging opening there but it’s a responsibility that I have always enjoyed, to go out there and give a solid start to my team,” the right-hander explained.
After the Zimbabwe tour, India will play a total of 16 test matches in upcoming 7-8 months which is quite exciting.
