The allrounder Hardik Pandya, who is currently under rehabilitation period, came to watch the decider match of the T20I series against Windies in Mumbai where he talks to the opener KL Rahul who scored 91 runs on Wednesday night.
The top-order batsman KL Rahul is correctly labelled as a classic player. His performance in the T20I series against Caribbeans is praiseworthy. The Karnataka player’s big knock in Wankhede stadium helped India to set the target of 241 runs for the Visitors. Rahul’s shot selections and executions were excellent. In total, he struck 13 boundaries which include 9-fours and 4-sixes. He was just 9 runs far from his century when Cottrell picked his wicket. But, he helped Virat Kohli to play fearlessly who went on to score the fastest fifty of his T20I career.

In Hyderabad, Rahul didn’t take the pressure when his opening partner Rohit Sharma lost his wicket. He scored a half-century in the first T20I against the visitors. He utilised the opportunity very well in creating an impact on the team. Initially, he was dropped from the T20I side but Shikhar Dhawan injury gave him the chance to regain the position.
Hardik Panday, who went under successful surgery of the lower back, came to watch the third T20I match of the series. He praised KL Rahul’s performance while having a candid chat in BCCI TV. Hardik Pandya asked his best friend about his highest maximum.
“I saw you and I got inspired. I saw my best friend sitting in the stands, and cheering for Team India. So your face cheered me up,” a smiling Rahul told Pandya.
I enjoy opening the bat with Rohit Sharma – KL Rahul
Rahul further went on to praise Rohit’s support that he gets on the field and also applauded Virat Kohli 70* off 29 balls. He also added that he is missing Hardik in the dressing room.
“I enjoy opening the bat with Rohit Sharma. He makes things a lot easier. I’ve said this before also. The oppositions are always thinking about Rohit, and I get a few freebies. That’s all a batsman wants to get his innings going. Virat, today was outstanding. I have never seen him play like this before,” the 27-year-old said.
“We are waiting for you to come back quickly. The dressing room feels the same without you. We miss you and Bumrah. Hopefully, you guys recover and come soon.”
